Treatment Options

For patients with alcohol/drug addiction, there are a number of treatment levels: Inpatient, Residential, Outpatient, and Sober Living Environments.

DETOXIFICATION: Detox may be required for people abusing substances such as alcohol, opiates, and benzodiazepines (valium, Xanax). Detox may be performed in all inpatient, residential and outpatient settings depending upon the patient's individual case and the availability of trained addiction specialists. (...read more)


INPATIENT: This is most appropriate for those patients who have serious medical and/or psychiatric problems requiring 24 hour monitoring by nurses and physicians. Most Medicare patients will be admitted to inpatient facilites due to Medicare requirements. Stepworks does not offer inpatient services. We can make referral to a local inpatient facility if required.

RESIDENTIAL: This level is for patients who have stable medical or psychiatric problems, but who require 24 hour support in order to maintain sobriety. (...read more)


OUTPATIENT: Outpatient treatment is for patients who are highly motivated, have supportive and available family, and who are able to attend 3-4 hour sessions three days a week.

SOBER LIVING: Sober Living environments such as halfway houses are generally for those people who have already completed treatment at a higher level but need continued support as they find jobs and learn to live life sober. (...read more)
