Our History
Stepworks Addiction Resources was founded in 2003 by Dr. Tom Ingram who serves as our medical director. Dr. Ingram is board-certified in Family Medicine and Addiction Medicine. Managed care has brought many changes to the healthcare industry including the treatment of alcohol and chemical dependency disorders. Dr. Ingram recognized that a significant treatment gap was growing as managed care forced treatment out of the hospital and into residential and outpatient settings. Stepworks was founded to address this treatment gap.
Any business is only as good as its people. Our personnel were hand picked for their expertise in addiction medicine. Our professionals include:
- Sherry C. (Administrator): Sherry has over 20 years experience in the field with an initial focus on recreational therapy. Unlike most administrators, Sherry is intimately involved with each individual's treatment.
- Woody B. (CADC/Clinical Supervisor): Woody also has over 20 years experience in the field and supervises all of our clinical services. Woody has extensive experience in a variety of treatment settings. Woody also serves as our primary DUI therapist.
- Debi H. (Counselor): Debi has worked over 20 years in the field in a variety of positions. She currently serves as a clinical counselor.
- Tom I. (MD, ASAM, DABFM): Dr. Ingram serves as our medical director and supervises all detoxification protocols. Dr. Ingram has over ten years experience in the treatment of addiction and has been a certified Suboxone prescriber since 2004. He has special interest in chronic pain and addiction treatment.
